To meet me, means you meet my family. All of us. All seven of us. I’ve been trying to figure out this Mom game since 2001 when my oldest son, Flynn, was born, and I’m certain it’s a game that was never meant to be mastered. Shortly after Flynn, Christian followed. Then came Cooper. In 2018, I was fortunate enough to marry my best friend, Brian, and along came Allison and Justin, which makes us one shy of a Brady Bunch. All we need is an 'Alice'.
Our house is loud, full of dog hair, and has a revolving door full of teenagers. You will always find at least four cars in our driveway, a messy garage, and a full fridge. Our calendar is nuts, and we like it that way. We love to travel, plan travel, and talk about traveling. It exhausts our kids, but they have signed up as willing participants on our wild ride, and I know one day they will look back on all of the exotic locations, exhausting layovers and incredible laughs we’ve had with a fondness that will hopefully ignite their own family’s wanderlust and desire to explore the world one day.
I’m obsessed with Target, Costco (have to be) and changing all throw pillows in the house with the season. I crave organization but have a hard time keeping a drawer clean. I love skincare products, boutique hotels, an extravagant cheeseboard, anything Bravo TV, and Friday lunches with my husband. I’m into cooking, but popcorn and Sauvignon Blanc can make a nice dinner too. I often overthink, overshare, and underestimate how long it takes to get to any destination. I’m a walker, not a runner, prefer dogs to cats and will take a beach over mountains given a choice.
So grab your cup of coffee or your glass of vino, and I hope you stay awhile.
Welcome to The Mom Mystique!
